Wrestling shoes - New wrestlers may wear clean gym shoes (shoes carried into the gym), until they purchase wrestling shoes.

Headgear – Highly recommended and required at most tournaments.

Wrestling Singlet – A team singlet will be provided. Briefs should be worn under the singlet.

Kneepad (s) – optional, wrestler’s preference of 1 or 2 knee pads.

Attention Parents and Wrestlers: Please Do Not walk outside with your wrestling shoes on.  Only clean shoes are permitted to be worn on the mats, and street shoes should be removed.

Hygiene:

Wrestlers should wear a clean shirt and gym shorts to practice each night.

All wrestlers should bathe each night after practice using friction, soap and warm water in order to prevent ringworm or any other communicable skin diseases common when coming in constant contact with the wrestling mats.

If a wrestler develops ringworm, the coach should be notified and proper precautions should be taken as to prevent the spread to other wrestlers.

A foam skin protectent can be purchased in sporting good stores to apply on the wrestlers exposed skin areas to help “seal” the skin from possible infections.

Nails should be trimmed and free of jagged edges at all times.

Hair should be kept short and pulled back if necessary.
